The Elemental Plane of Air, one of the major planes in the Inner Planar Region, is envisioned as an immense, open sky, stretching infinitely in all directions. It's characterized by its ever-present soft glow and the presence of drifting clouds made of condensed air. This plane is defined by its varied air currents, ranging from gentle breezes to powerful tornadoes, creating a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
These wind currents are the most prevalent danger for planar travelers. Nevertheless, this plane is the most hospitable of the inner planes, with many creatures calling it home. Most of the are creatures capable of flight, which benefit the most from this plane. But even non-flying creatures can stay in the plane for prolonged stays without much trouble. Inexperienced planar travelers soon find themselves falling without anything to hold on to, until they realize that they can control the direction of gravity, if not its strength, at will.
It is common for clouds to be condensed even more by the wind currents, until they actually become solid. These solid clouds can vary in size from small as pebbles to large as cities. Many dwellers of the plane use these solid clouds to build their settlements, some as large as cities.
Even though this plane is very hospitable, most of its inhabitants come from outside the plane. Only few beings are native to this plane, with air elementals and djinni being the best known.
